Aitchison College Science Society Successfully Tests Silver Phantom Rocket Motor

On July 11, 2026, under the guidance of our staff advisor Dr. Muhammad Kamran, the Aitchison College Science Society successfully conducted a static test of its K-class solid rocket motor, Silver Phantom, at a test site on the outskirts of Lahore.

Entirely designed by the team and manufactured in Pakistan, Silver Phantom achieved a peak thrust of 72 kilograms with a burn time of just under 4 seconds, representing a significant advancement in the team’s propulsion capabilities.

An upgraded ESP32-based Wi-Fi ignition system and a load cell-based thrust stand enabled reliable remote ignition and accurate thrust data collection throughout the test.

The successful test marks a major milestone in the team’s rocket development programme and validates key propulsion and testing systems developed in-house.

With the motor successfully tested, the team will now focus on the next two critical stages of development: designing and manufacturing the rocket airframe and developing a reliable parachute ejection and recovery system.
