The Equation of Victory: Mathematics Quiz Competition
Aitchison College, Prep School, Mathematics Department successfully organised the 5th Annual Mathematics Quiz Competition. It was an engaging and intellectually stimulating event designed to nurture a love for the subject of Mathematics among students.
The competition was held in two stages. The First Round, a written quiz, was conducted on 30th September 2025, during which we shortlisted thirty-six students from E2, M1, and M2 levels. These students were grouped into twelve teams that competed in the Final Round on 9th October 2025 at the Prep School Library.
The event had the honour of hosting Professor Dr. Waqas Ali Azhar as the Chief Guest. Dr. Waqas delivered an insightful and thought-provoking talk titled “How Simple Things Become Complicated – 4.669", in which he explored the beauty and complexity of mathematical patterns found in Nature and Science. His engaging discussion captivated the audience and deepened their appreciation for the real-world relevance of Mathematics.
The Final Round featured multiple segments, including a General Round, Buzzer Round, Rapid-Fire Round, and an Audio-Visual Round, keeping the competition lively and challenging. The top three teams were announced at the end, celebrating their outstanding performance and teamwork. The event was a grand success, inspiring students and showcasing their mathematical aptitude. It played a vital role in enhancing analytical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills-qualities essential for academic excellence and future success. Events like these continue to promote curiosity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of Mathematics among young learners.
