Old Building Update -May 2018

A recent inspection of the 'Old Building' with architect Raees Faheem indicates that a great deal of progress has been made, although there are always surprises in exposing old structures. New roofing has almost been completed in the back section. Brickwork and red marble have been brought back to peak condition in many parts of the exterior. The Main Hall has been treated for termites, and the old honour boards will be returned in original black with gold writing. Ugly modern strip lights and inappropriate electrical ducting have disappeared. A great deal of intricate restoration is being carried out. Most noticeably the main dome is shining brightly in its pink marble coat and copper finial not seen for possibly a century. Raees has also completed one of the front rooms as a show piece to give us a perfect idea of the high standards he has insisted upon in this project.

Donations are still required and I encourage old boys to give generously. Shortly we will be uploading photos of the project for all to see. The best news is that Raees feels the 'Old Building' may be returned to us by August 2019. This is great news indeed.
