C2 Boys' Options, April 9 Letter

Dear Parents and Boys,

Subsequent to my April 9 letter, I must state very clearly that no one can advise on a raft of  'what if' scenarios. We have given the whole matter extreme thought and strongly recommended what we think is the better course. We have indicated which option is superior and why. Personally, I see no reason or disadvantage in every boy asking for predicted grades and finding out where he stands. From that information, one has better control of what lies ahead. 

No one really knows if school will start in June or whether October/November retakes will be guaranteed. No one knows the course or severity of this virus. The only guarantee, so far, is that a Predicted Grade can be obtained. Equally, you choose either an  AS or full A Level route. If you wish to sit the October/November session to improve one or two IGCSE grades then this can be discussed at the time.  However, we will not allow boys to create an in-between option and nor will we, as stated, allow boys to retain some subjects and withdraw others.

Please read the April 9 letter very carefully.
